Start with the receiving system's columns

Confirm column names, date format, encoding and whether one row represents an order or an order line. A report that opens in a spreadsheet can still misrepresent a refunded order or lose a variation attribute.
Use filters to define which records belong in the export: for example, paid orders in a specified date range. Run the same filter twice to see whether it would repeat records in a scheduled workflow. If the file contains customer names, addresses or email, define who can download it and how long it will be retained. An export is a copy of personal data, not merely a convenient report.
Scheduled and event-based delivery are different
